Justine Tissue Oil Original vs Softening Body Butter

The bottle of Tissue Oil Original and the jar of Tissue Oil Softening Body Butter belong to the same Justine range, but they are different product formats. If you are comparing them in a South African catalogue, start with the full product name, texture and pack size rather than assuming that the word "oil" on both labels means the contents are identical. Here we compare the versions documented in the January 2026 brochure, not today's prices or availability.

Choose the format before comparing the price

The practical choice is between an oil and a butter, not a good product and a bad one. If you already know that you prefer an oil format in your body-care routine, the Original bottle is the relevant starting point. If you prefer a thick product dispensed from a jar, look at the Softening Body Butter. Texture preference is a reason to try a format, not proof that it will suit every person or outperform the other product.

Justine highlights vitamin E, wheat germ oil and castor oil in both of these catalogue descriptions. That shared ingredient shortlist does not establish identical formulas, equal proportions or the same feel after application. It is also not a complete ingredient list. Compare the ingredient labels on the actual packs when a particular ingredient matters to you; do not substitute an old advertisement for the information on the product you are buying.

The January range also contains other oils and butters. UV Defend, Sleep Therapy and Gold are not alternate spellings of the two items in the table. A similar orange bottle or white jar is not enough to identify a product. In particular, the nearby UV Defend bottle should not be mistaken for Original when checking a code or reading a claim on a scan.

What the different pack sizes do to the comparison

The butter jar contains twice the labelled volume of the 100 ml Original bottle, so the two pack prices alone are not a like-for-like comparison. Using the expired January prices purely as an example, Original costs R129.90 divided by 100, or R1.299 per ml. The butter costs R229.90 divided by 200, or R1.1495 per ml. Rounded to cents, those are R1.30 and R1.15 respectively.

That calculation describes the purchase price of a millilitre, not the cost of an application or a measure of effectiveness. We have not established how much of each product a person would use, so we cannot turn the larger jar into a claim of twice as many uses. Nor does a lower price per millilitre compensate for buying a texture you do not enjoy using. Keep the format decision and the budget calculation separate.

For a new purchase, replace both old prices with quotes from the same date. Compare the same codes and sizes, note any minimum-spend condition, and add delivery to the final order total. A multi-item promotion can have a lower headline price while requiring a larger overall spend. An old catalogue is useful for identifying a version, but it cannot confirm that a promotion or stock position still applies.

What this comparison does not establish

This is a catalogue-based shopping comparison, not a clinical assessment or a personal product test. It does not rank scar or stretch-mark results, promise a treatment outcome, or assign a guaranteed moisturising duration. Product-specific instructions and warnings remain those on the pack. We have not checked whether formulas or codes changed after the referenced issue.
