Tabasheer Original vs Gold: Compare the Notes, Not Just the Name

Justine Tabasheer and Tabasheer Gold are separate Eau de Parfum listings, not simply different bottle sizes of one fragrance. In the South African April 2026 brochure, Tabasheer is a 100 ml bottle with code 1544097; Gold is 50 ml with code 1546229. Their published note descriptions also differ. The original listing starts with bergamot and citrus, while Gold starts with red fruit berries.

Here "Original" is a convenient way to distinguish the plain Tabasheer name from Tabasheer Gold. The April product listing itself says Tabasheer Eau de Parfum. When looking for a replacement bottle, keep the suffix Gold in your request if that is the fragrance you already use. Asking only for "Tabasheer perfume" leaves an important distinction unresolved.

How to use the note lists

The shared rose and patchouli notes explain why the descriptions have some overlap. The differences are more useful for narrowing a choice: the plain Tabasheer listing pairs citrus and bergamot with jasmine, then musk and cedarwood in its base description. Gold pairs red berries with freesia and includes vanilla in its base description. A reader specifically looking for vanilla in the published notes should therefore inspect Gold rather than assume it appears in both lists.

These are the brand's descriptions, not a complete ingredient formula or a measured account of how either perfume develops on your skin. They cannot establish that Gold is stronger, that the original lasts longer, or that one is a duplicate of another brand. If you can sample both, compare the exact fragrances rather than choosing solely from the colour of the bottle or the shared family name. This guide has not conducted a personal fragrance wear test.

Bottle size and neighbouring offers are separate questions

The 100 ml and 50 ml sizes above belong to the specific April listings. They are useful identifiers, but they do not prove that these are the only sizes ever sold. A smaller Gold bottle is not a travel-size version of the original scent: the name, code and note description all need to match.

On the archived Tabasheer page, the 100 ml Eau de Parfum was offered at R399 against a printed regular R599. The Gold spread showed its 50 ml Eau de Parfum at R469 and a separate 50 ml anti-perspirant roll-on. The large R329 offer on that spread referred to both products together under offer code 860885. It was not the stand-alone product code for the perfume and should not be used to identify a bottle.

The roll-on's protection claim also belongs to that product, not to the perfume's scent duration. A headline on a shared spread is not automatically a claim for everything pictured beside it. Keep the Eau de Parfum name and its own code together when comparing listings.

A simple replacement-bottle check

Read your existing bottle's full name first. Then compare the new listing's name, concentration, volume and product code. For the April references, 1544097 means Tabasheer 100 ml and 1546229 means Tabasheer Gold 50 ml. If one detail disagrees, ask the seller to identify the actual item before treating it as the same fragrance. Finally check the current price and stock: the April offers expired and are not an order promise today.

Sources and scope

Checked on 19 October 2026 against Justine South Africa's April 2026 cover, campaign dates on page 2 and product pages 5 and 7. The issue states that offers were valid from 1 to 30 April 2026. Names, codes, sizes, note lists and price examples in this guide come from those archived pages. The comparison explains the listings, not personal performance or current availability.

Read the Justine South Africa: April 2026 archive for the dated reference. The offers in that issue have expired.
